2025 is shaping up to be the year of the compact Android phone revival, with OPPO, Vivo, and OnePlus stepping in to fill the gap left by Apple. Once known for its compact SE series, Apple has now pivoted with the iPhone 16e, leaving small-screen enthusiasts looking for alternatives. Fortunately, Android brands are ready to deliver, bringing compact phones with flagship-grade specs. If you’ve been waiting for a powerful yet pocket-friendly device, here are the top contenders from OPPO, Vivo, and OnePlus to watch out for this year.
OPPO, Vivo, and OnePlus to Launch Compact Phones in 2025
OPPO Find X8 Mini
OPPO is expected to unveil the Find X8 Mini alongside the Find X8 Ultra in March or April. The phone will allegedly weigh between 180 grams and 190 grams. It is also reported to have a slender metal chassis, measuring between 7 mm and 7.99 mm thick.
The MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset, which powers the Find X8 and X8 Pro, will also pilot the Find X8 Mini. It will feature a 6.3-inch LTPO AMOLED display on the front. Moreover, it is rumoured to include a 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 50-megapixel Samsung JN5 periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom.
Vivo X200 Pro Mini
Vivo, the next company on the list, is also geared to debut the mini version of its well-received X200 Pro later this year. The X200 Pro Mini has already been unveiled in China but has yet to launch globally. Multiple leaks suggest the phone will feature a 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED display, offering a vibrant, immersive viewing experience.
Under the hood, the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor is expected to run the show in the Vivo X200 Pro Mini. Moreover, it is rumoured to feature a versatile array of cameras, including a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom.
OnePlus 13 Mini
OnePlus is also reportedly working on a compact edition of the OnePlus 13. The OnePlus 13 Mini is rumoured to be based on the OPPO Find X8 Mini and will pack a battery similar in size to the OnePlus 13.
Several leaks indicate that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC will make a comeback in the OnePlus 13 Mini. It is expected to feature the same set of cameras as the OPPO Find X8 Mini and allegedly house a 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED display on the front.
