Google seems to be setting up the stage to unveil its next mid-range offering, the “Pixel 9a”. Today, we have spotted this upcoming device on Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) certification website. Here’s everything you need to know about.
Google Pixel 9a on IMDA Certification
The device appeared with the GTF7P model number. The listing also confirmed that the device will have 4G, 5G, Bluetooth, and NFC support. Unfortunately, it didn’t reveal any other device specifications.
Earlier, the Pixel 9a was also spotted on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) certification website with the same model number. It also confirmed the same specs like WiFi 6E, 5G connectivity, Bluetooth, and NFC. Apart from that, it has also been confirmed that the upcoming Pixel 9a will have wireless charging support. This was something that was expected as the current Pixel 8a already supports wireless charging.
Google Pixel 9a Expected Specifications
Google’s upcoming mid-range offering is expected to draw power from the Tensor G4 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage, just like its predecessor. Under the hood, the device is likely to pack a 5100mAh battery with fast charging support. If it turns out to be true, then it will be a big jump over its predecessor, which packs a 4492 mAh battery and supports only 18W charging support.
Furthermore, the renders of the Pixel 9a have also surfaced on the internet, which suggests that the device will have Obsidian, Porcelain, Iris, and Peony colour options. The leak also revealed the pricing quoting €549 (~ 50,000) or £499 (~45,000) for the 128GB model and €649 (~ Rs 60,000) or £599 (~ Rs 55,000) for the 256GB version.
However, it’s important to keep in mind that Google has not confirmed any of these details. So until we get some official confirmation from the tech giant, it’s better to take these details with caution.
