No OnePlus Open 2 in 2024? Here Are the Best Foldables to Watch Instead

OnePlus has released a statement revealing its foldable strategy for 2025. The company has confirmed that the OnePlus Open 2 won’t launch this year. While we hope that all this means is that the company is skipping the foldable this year and not the permanent movie, at the same time, we also feel that it is time to look for alternatives. So, here’s a look at the top alternatives you can consider instead.

Alternatives Expected Price
OPPO Find N5 Rs. 1,47,500
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Rs. 1,65,000
Vivo X Fold 4 Rs 1,70,000

Top Alternatives to Look For in 2025

OPPO Find N5

The OPPO Find N5, set to launch on February 20, will be the first foldable device to feature the seven-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. It will be slimmer than the iPad Pro (M4) and house a larger 5,600mAh battery with 80W wired and 50W wireless charging support. The device will flaunt a 6.62-inch cover display and an 8.12-inch outer display with support for a 120Hz refresh rate.

The camera department could include a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera, and an 8MP selfie camera. It is teased to launch in Jade White and Satin Black colour options. The handset will get IPX6, IPX8, and IPX9 water resistance and 3D 3D-printed titanium alloy hinge.

Expected Price: Around $1700 (approx Rs 1,47,500)

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to go official in Q3 of 2025 with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Made for Galaxy SoC (eight-core) variant. Samsung plans to keep the thickness of the smartphone under 10mm. The foldable handset is tipped to feature a larger 8-inch inner display and a 6.5-inch outer display.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 will have a smaller display crease and a smoother and more durable hinge mechanism. It is also expected to sport a large vapour chamber cooling system. The device will likely boot One UI 7.1 based on Android 15 out of the box. It will also feature updated speakers for better audio output.

Expected Price: Around Rs 1,65,000

Vivo X Fold 4

The last generation of foldables has completely bowled us. Thus, we are extremely excited about the Vivo X Fold 4. Sadly, the launch might be slightly later than its predecessor. According to the recent leaks, the phone is expected to break cover in China by Q2 2025 and make its way to India by Q3 2025. The foldable device will continue to be thinner and lighter than the Vivo X Fold 3. The smartphone will pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite SoC. It is expected to feature an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner on internal and external displays.

The device will sport a 50MP primary and 50MP ultrawide camera on the rear. The report also adds that it will house a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. It will be backed by a 6,000mAh battery with wireless charging support. The foldable device is expected to feature a new three-stage camera button and IPX8 water resistance.

Expected Price: Around Rs 1,70,000

Do note the devices are speculated to launch this year, but we don’t have a lot of official details at the moment, so kindly take the details with a grain of salt.
