Highlights

  • The Oppo A5 5G moniker has surfaced via TDRA certification in the UAE.
  • At the same time, the Oppo A5i has appeared in Thailand’s NBTC database.
  • These certifications hint that the Oppo A5 5G and A5i will be launching soon.

The Oppo A5 5G and Oppo A5i monikers have surfaced in various certifications, suggesting that these A5 series models will soon debut in different markets. While the A5 5G has received approval from the UAE’s TDRA authority, the A5i has been certified by Thailand’s NBTC.

Oppo has launched several A-series phones in recent months. In December, the company introduced the Oppo A5 Pro with the Dimensity 7300 chip in China, which was later rebranded as the Find F29 Pro in India. Earlier this month, China also saw the launch of two more A5-series phones, namely the Oppo A5 5G and A5 Energy Edition, equipped with the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 and Dimensity 6300 chipsets, respectively.

Meanwhile, a different A5 Pro featuring the Dimensity 6300 is available in Taiwan, while a 4G version of the A5 Pro with the Snapdragon 6s Gen 1 launched in Bangladesh. Now, Oppo appears set to expand the A5 lineup globally with the introduction of the A5 5G and A5i.

Oppo A5 5G, A5i certified in the UAE and Thailand

  • According to a certification listing, an upcoming Oppo phone with the model number CPH2735, bearing the Oppo A5 5G moniker, has received approval from the UAE’s TDRA authority.
  • Simultaneously, the Oppo A5i with the model number CPH2773 has been certified by Thailand’s NBTC.
  • Unfortunately, none of these listings reveal details about the core specifications of the A5 5G and A5i.
  • However, the NBTC listing confirms that the A5i is a 4G LTE device, meaning it lacks 5G connectivity. Hopefully, upcoming reports will reveal more details about these phones in the coming days.
