Oppo F29 Pro 5G Bluetooth SIG certified, India launch expected soon

Highlights

  • Oppo F29 Pro 5G has been approved by the Bluetooth SIG authority.
  • The device was previously approved by India’s BIS certification platform.
  • It is expected to debut in the next few months.

The Oppo F29 Pro 5G moniker has emerged in the Bluetooth SIG certification platform’s database, suggesting that the brand could be working on the F29 series of smartphones for different markets. To recall, Oppo unveiled the F27 and F27 Pro+ in 2024; however, there was no F27 Pro model last year. Interestingly, the appearance of the F29 Pro in the Bluetooth certification hints that this time, there will be a Pro variant this year.

As of now, it is unclear whether the F29 series will include three devices—a regular F29, a Pro version, and a Pro+ edition. This uncertainty arises because while the F27 series had two models, the previous generations only included the F25 Pro and F23.

Oppo F29 Pro 5G Bluetooth SIG certified

To recall, an unnamed Oppo smartphone with model number CPH2705 was spotted in India’s BIS certification in December 2024. The same device has emerged in Bluetooth SIG’s database as the Oppo F29 Pro 5G. Unfortunately, the certification does not reveal any details about the device’s core specifications. With Bluetooth SIG and BIS certifications under its belt, the F29 Pro is expected to launch soon in India.

Oppo F29 Pro 5G specifications: What to expect?

Last year’s Oppo F27 Pro+ was a rebranded version of China’s Oppo A3 Pro. Therefore, there is a possibility that the F29 Pro may arrive as a rebadged version of the Oppo A5 Pro, which debuted in December 2024 in China.

The Oppo A5 Pro features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, an in-screen fingerprint sensor, and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. It is touted as a durable phone, boasting an IP68/69 rating and a reinforced glass back. Additionally, it complies with the GJB 150A-2009 Chinese military standard, which defines environmental test methods for military equipment.

Under the hood, the Oppo A5 Pro is powered by the Dimensity 7300 chip, paired with up to 12 GB of RAM, up to 512 GB of storage, and a 6,000mAh battery with 80W charging. For optics, the A5 Pro features a 16-megapixel selfie camera on the front and a 50-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual-camera setup on the back. Lastly, the device runs on ColorOS 15-based Android 15.
