Redmi is set to launch its next budget smartphone, the Redmi A5. The company has already confirmed that the device is coming to India on April 15. Now, thanks to our trusted source Sudhanshu, we have received the pricing details of Redmi’s forthcoming budget offering.
Redmi A5 Pricing and Other Details
The base variant of the device, which will come with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, is expected to be priced at Rs 6,499 in India. The company has already confirmed that the device will launch on April 15 at 12:00 PM IST and will be available via Flipkart as well as Xiaomi India’s official website.
A landing page for the smartphone is already live in the country. It reveals that the device will feature a design similar to its global counterpart. It also confirms that the device will be available in Jaisalmer Gold, Just Black, and Pondicherry Blue colour options.
Furthermore, the landing page confirms that the phone will sport a 120Hz display with TÜV Rheinland eye comfort certification. It will also pack a 5,200mAh battery, similar to the global model.
The global version of the Redmi A5 runs on a Unisoc T7250 processor with 4GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of eMMC 5.1 storage. It comes with Android 15 Go Edition and features a 6.88-inch HD+ screen. For cameras, it offers a 32MP dual rear setup and an 8MP front camera.
While the company has not yet revealed the full specifications of the Indian variant, we expect it to carry a spec sheet largely similar to its global counterpart. However, we will have to wait for the official announcement before making any concrete claims.
